Are You Humble?

Micah 6:8 – “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”

How Do We Walk Humbly Before God?

  1. By recognizing how powerful and great God is.
    Psalm 62:11 – “…power belongeth unto God.”
    Psalm 104:1 – “Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, Thou art very great; Thou art clothed with honour and majesty.”
  2. By recognizing how dependent we are on God to help us.
    Psalm 27:1 – “…the Lord is the strength of my life.”
    Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
  3. By recognizing we cannot save ourselves.
    Titus 3:5 – “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us…”
    Isaiah 64:6 – “…all our righteousness is as filthy rags…”
  4. By recognizing God’s thoughts are higher than ours.
    Isaiah 55:8 – “…my thoughts [are higher] than your thoughts.”
    Philippians 4:8 – Tells us to think on the right things.
    Colossians 3:12 – “Put on therefore… humbleness of mind.”
    1 Corinthians 2:16 – “…we have the mind of Christ.”
    Philippians 2:5 – “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”
  5. By recognizing the value of souls. (Don’t be a snob)
