Calling Things That Are Not

Romans 4:17 – "...whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not, as though they were."

NOTE: The word "calleth" — YOU (not someone else) HAS to do the "calling."
God called forth "light" in Genesis 1:3. He called things that were not, as though they were. If you want to change your future, then change your present confessions.

Let’s look at some ordinary Bible heroes of faith who did just that.
They called their present — what they were wanting now & for their future, and they did not speak the current negativity, but what the Word says.
We always should speak what the Word says, and not what our negative circumstances appear to be temporarily.

BIBLE EXAMPLES:

  1. DAVID (killing Goliath) – 1 Samuel 17:46 – "This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand..."
NOTE: The GOD-KIND OF FAITH isn't moved negatively by impossible, insurmountable situations. It’s only moved by the WORD OF GOD. (Rom. 10:17)
  2. SHADRACH, MESHACH, AND ABEDNEGO
They did not bow down to a statue, being thrown into a fiery furnace. These men believed God for complete deliverance.
    Daniel 3:17 & 18; 24 & 25
  3. ABRAHAM – Believing God to rescue and even resurrect his only son, by Sarah. Genesis 22:8–18.
Abraham used his faith in the "now" tense for his future. In return (as Abraham was willing to believe & yield), God obviously blessed Abraham beyond status quo.

NOTE: When Christians use the faith of a mustard seed (Matt. 17:20), and stand on God’s Word, without wavering, God HAS to come through, because His Word does not lie.

FAITH HAS OBEDIENCE AND ACTION IN IT!
(See: James 2:13; 1:7; 2:6; 24; 26)

“Faith without works is dead.”

God wants your heart more than the "sacrifice." 1 Samuel 15:22 – "...to obey is better than sacrifice..."

King Saul did not operate in faith. He had a lack of patience and a rebellious heart.

Hebrews 6:12 – "...followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." Romans 12:12 – "Patience and faith in ALL your pressures and tribulations that you endure."

HOW WE CALL THOSE THINGS THAT ARE NOT:

  1. Meditate on the Word. (Get the Word DEEP in your heart.)
    Joshua 1:8
  2. Speak the Word. (Confront with the issue of BLOOD) Hebrews 12:24
  3. Visualize it. Habakkuk 2:2 & 3 (You must believe it in order to see it.)
  4. Act on the Word. James 2:26 – "Faith without works is dead."
  5. Don’t Waver! James 1:5–8. You are not time conscience.
  6. Thank God often. Before you see the answer manifest, if you are already thanking God for the answer, as if it has already been received. 1 Thess. 5:18.
  7. If Ashamed Comes – You give God all the glory, with thanksgiving, and not yourself. Psalm 22:8 & 8:11.
  8. Stay FocusedRomans 4:20, John 4:28–30. The woman at the well story.

NOTES: Our breakthroughs & blessings are connected to our obedience to His Word.
We are encouraged to also bless one another. Ephesians 4:29 – "Do not allow corrupt communication to proceed out of your mouth, but only that which is good to the use of edifying..."

We are to call those things that be not, as though they were.
